Tulips PLANTED

Date: 11/09/2005

Number: 1

We were a little late in planting our bulbs this year. The fall here in Mid-Michigan has been warm and the mums that occupy the tulip garden have been too beautiful to dig out and replace with our annual tulips. Our November 9th planting day was warm and beautiful at around noon when our science club put the bulbs in the ground. Not much later, the weather abruptly changed, and the temperature dropped about 20 degrees by the end of the afternoon. On November 15th, we recorded a soil temperature of 46 degrees, so our bulbs are still growing. We'll hope for a little more warm weather, but the forcast looks like winter is trying to move in.
