Tulips PLANTED

Date: 11/12/2005

Number: 1

The Albany Heritage Area Visitors Center is delighted to report 32 Girl Scouts from the Hudson Valley Council planted our Journey North Tulip garden this year. The girls were from Troops 539, 406, 302, 523, and 519. The Junior Girls Scouts were from towns in the Greater Capital Region (Schenectady, New Baltimore, Troy, Delmar and Albany). They were here at the Visitors Center working on their "Discover Albany" and "Sky Search" badges. The tradition of planting tulips in Albany is almost 400 years old. We love keeping the tradition alive!
