After 2 days of high winds and general yucky weather, the sun came out today in a cloudless sky. Despite the temp in the 20's and 30's, I spotted a flock of over 20 cranes after hearing them for a few minutes. They were flying much, much lower than the sandhills I see each spring and these cranes sure looked like whoopers, with black wingtips and the underbellies pure white. They were headed due south just before 4 PM CST.
