Today we planted 45 tulips in front of the Mound Elementary sign. The sign is facing NE. Nicholas and Kaitlyn's mothers came to help. Also, Clyde and Joy Chong came from across the street. We made sure that we planted each bulb 7 inches deep. First, we made a trench and then we measured the trench with a ruler. When we got the trench 7 inches deep, we put the bulb in front of the ruler and pushed it down. We covered it up with soil until the soil was all the way up to the 7 inches. We marked our tulips with numbered popsicle sticks so we each knew where our tulip was. Mrs. Ludolph made a map of the tulip garden with each bulb marked on it. We took a class picture together in front of the garden. Before we planted, we measured and weighed our tulip bulbs. We found out the average class weight and circumference. We enjoyed planting our tulips!
