We planted around 300 tulips among 4 different campuses January 5, 2006.
The site we chose to plant our Tulips follows the protocol recommended
by Journey North. The day we planted the outside temperature was in the
50's and the soil temperature was a couple degrees higher. This year's
weather has been unseasonably warm and dry. We had no rain in 2 1/2
months. The ground was extremely hard and almost impossible to dig 7
inches into the ground...so some tulips may not have made it 7 inches
into the ground. We did ensure they were at least 6 inches in the
ground. Since we have had no rain we are watering once a week for
around 3 hours.
