Hello from Seven Oak Middle School! This week two of our 6th grade classes planted 50 tulips in our official Journey North Garden. This is our school's second year participating in the Journey North tulip study. The weather here in our community has been an especially wet one this winter. One of our goals this year is to build and program a LEGO robotic vehicle that will operate in part of our JN Garden. Once built and programmed, our robot will travel upon a raised track system that we are building in part of our JN garden. Our robot will be programmed to stop at predetermined locations within our garden, insert a Vernier temperature probe approximately 7 inches below the surface level, measure, record, and graph soil temperatures, then extract the probe out of the soil and maneuver to the next sampling location.
