a perfect male Monarch sunning while it was perched on my ligustrum hedge. It was very alert and would not allow me closer than 10 feet.

Monarch was visiting one of my camelies in bloom.

As reported to Carolina butterfly listserv.

The latter could be the same male as sighted on 1/10/06.
