While doing my run yesterday (18 Jan) in the river valley here in Edmonton I saw 3 robins--unmistakable red breasts and call. They were on the south facing slope of the valley in an area where there were a lot of chokecherries and will crab apples left on the shrubs/trees. Winter has been very mild so far in Edmonton. Temperatures have been hovering around zero or just above zero for most of the month--quite a contrast to winters in Inuvik. And the sun comes up every day too!!!
