I was very surprised when a wave of robins came to the pear tree in my yard. It was a sunny day, but very unusual to see not one but about 30 robins in January! They rooted under the leaves looking for food - perhaps there were some insects there, then left as a group after about 20 minutes. I took pictures to show to my class.
