Our weather people say that our January weather has been 11.5 degrees warmer than any recorded January. The Robin's behavior have certainly reflected this pheonomena. We have already had Robins singing, seemingly fighting for feeding territory and males following the females around the yard. In the park where I walk there have been large flocks of robins all winter. We normally go trough a peroid of time without robins in the area. Not this year. There have been robins at all times...so far.
February 3
Yes, the robins were singing their territorial song for a couple of days. Since the temps have dropped some and the mass of birds have moved on all I am hearing now are whinny and chortle calls.
