Robin (First HEARD singing)

Date: 02/09/2005

Number: 1

Heard lots of lively singing today! We have actually seen many Robins off and on this winter around Dover but when we heard this robin a couple weeks ago he was definately singing. I had my husband listen to the recordings as well and he also identified that it was singing. We remember it well that particular day. We have a nest in a holly tree right outside our front window and watched three separate families come and go - I'm not so sure it wasn't the same family all three times. Then the little ones moved to my back yard to the conifers so they could hide well. I could clearly identify each family because of their various sizes. I've listened carefully to their calls/songs, etc. - how interesting and fun. Today the one Robin is flying in and out of the holly tree already - not necessarily into the nest, but I'd be willing to bet I'll have a family there when it's time.
