It is below freezing however, the sun is out. I believe it is in the teens, so it is cold and the ground still frozen with snow cover.

There must be about a dozen or so, looking for food under the pine trees where the snow pack is gone. They were scratching around in the leaves.

I put out some apple, but of course it froze pretty hard.
