Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 02/24/2006

Number: 1

About 12 noon, temp 60degrees, maybe a bit warmer. I was is Surfside Beach, about a half mile from the Atlantic Ocean, and an adult flew over my car. I can't determine if it was an overwintering adult, or a migrant. The weather was mild, but has had intermittent cooler spells in the last 2-3 weeks. There are some nectar foods, daffodills, phlox, pansies etc.
