Today we saw our first male Rufous Hummingbird at our feeders in
Newport. Right on time!! The first sighting dates for previous
years were: 2003, Feb. 23; 2004, Feb.24; 2005, Feb. 25; 2006, Feb.
24. The birds are nothing if not consistent despite very different
weather patterns in our area.
