Robin (First HEARD singing)

Date: 03/02/2006

Number: 1

We've been hearing robins all winter giving their peek tuk and whinney calls. We heard them more than we saw them. They were probably overwintering robins. In the last few days there have been more robins on the ground looking for worms like they do all summer. I think these were the first of the migrating robins looking for territory. This morning from my front steps I heard at least three robins singing their songs about 6 am. Looks like the neighborhood has been divided up. Temperatures have been in the 40's and 50's.
