I'm not sure if this has any significance, but it was a first for me (and I'm 50!). I saw a very large and very white swan (tundra? trumpeter?) sitting at the edge of a snow-covered farmer's field. It was about 4 pm, bright sunny day, and this beautiful bird, head held high, was still as a statue for about 30 minutes before it rose to its feet and flew off, quite low to the ground, toward the north. I was about 15 metres from it.
