Red-winged Blackbird (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/06/2006

Number: 1

I spotted what must be a young male, because the wing bands are a buff yellow/white, with just a tinge of red. He sat in the feeder for close to 20 minutes, then joined a flock of morning doves on the ground. There is a female as well. I noticed her earlier in the day, and thought she was a chipping sparrow. As I watched more closely, I found out it was a female. Happy to see them back!
