Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/07/2006

Number: 1

Thousands of monarchs have been decending a north facing slope into Angangueo this morning. A thick stream is flowing down the bed of a
stream. Some had paused in a shallows, presumably to drink. Some are
turning west to follow the roadway, downhill. Others are flying over the row of buildings to fly to the continuation of the stream in the canyon, again, westward. I did notice some turn north, to climb the steep, tree covered slope.

As I compose this message, I notice a steady flow along the roadway, downhill, westerly.

I will try to take some pictures this afternoon.

So excited to be in the heartland for the first time.
