Monarch Adult Sighted

Number: 1

A quick check of a few of my milkweed plants this morning revealed four caterpillars in three different stages. There are probably more, I only checked two different areas of my garden and they tend to hide first thing in the morning. These will be the offspring of overwinterers. My milkweed plants are all producing fresh new leaves so there will be enough food to support them. I suspect though that the overwinterers will get the fresh new leaves and the Journey North crowd will get the left overs.
