February 27, 2006; Big Creek Scenic Area near Shepherd, TX in San
Jacinto County.


I walked Forest Service Road 217C from about 11:30 am to about 3:00
pm. The first butterfly I found was my life "Spring" Azure. Not sure
which subspecies.

Warm, partly cloudy, but plenty of sun.
Few flowers, no sign of flowers forming on the possum haw yet.
