Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/12/2006

Number: 1

We traveled to the Albert Pike area along the Little Missouri River on Sunday, March 12. This is an area about 60 to 70 miles north/northeast of Texarkana, AR. We saw five adult monarchs. Two were worn and faded, but the other three were brightly colored. They were nectaring on flowering shrubs along the roadside. One pair was mating.
