Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 03/11/2006

Number: 1

I overwintered a Rufus hummer...so the thrill was less intense when I saw the mature male ruby. He quickly took over the feeder so I put up three more...eventually I will have 30 to forty feeders ( I hate to see them fight)..Katrina dug a hugh new flower bed(knocked over big tree) so I'll be planting lots more "Cuphea" all types...It has more nectar than honeysuckle. P.S.Just because a hummer goes to a flower doesnt mean it has nectar...tear open the flower and you will see...four-o-clocks have NO nectar....and many more people suggest for hummers have NO nectar...
