Since I have kept records of sightings starting Jan 1st, now 73 days, I have seen 1-3 Monarchs each day, all in or around my yard. There could be more, I only count them once, and 2 or more if they are together. Obviously, this is not a scientific endeavor. The only one I have seen flying across the prairie on a mission, was going due south. At this moment, I have about 40 caterpillars in all instars, and on my chrysalis hunt today, I found 3 whose butterflies may emerge today, surely by tomorrow morning.
