I definitely saw a monarch. Ever since I began working with Journey North, I have paid careful attention to monarchs or hummingbirds. It was a beautiful, springlike day here in Rock Hill. I was working out in my yard and was startled to see the butterfly flitting around. I always look for signs of spring such as the red buds beginning to sprout, or daffodils blooming. I was thrilled to see this first spring creature in my yard. Now I can't wait for the first hummingbird!
