Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/13/2006

Number: 1

On March 13, 2006, a Monarch (one) came through. It was good sized and was going east.

Yesterday, March 17, another Monarch came through and spent a long time on a Redbud tree. The Redbud and the Peach trees are about the only trees with anything blooming. The drought has hit this area very hard. Again, the Monarch yesterday was a good sized one.

This is the only report so far from Camp Wood, Texas. I wish that hundreds were going through!

Note from Mike Quinn: West Texas doesn't get *nearly* as many monarchs in the spring as they enjoy in the fall.
