Just wanted to share with you that I visited Peveto Woods on the SW La.
coast this Sunday. It's badly beat up by the hurricane and storm surge, but there are signs of life emerging--new leaves on some of the trees, and a carpet in places of false garlic and purple vetch in bloom atop the sand. I saw at least a dozen Monarchs nectaring on the white blooms of the false garlic (a Crinium sp., I believe), and one pair mating.
