Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/16/2006

Number: 1

I had a single Monarch yesterday, although it had been around here the day before. I had spent the day putting in a garden of bright flowers that included a new one to me - "Butterfly Blue Pincushion" flower (Scabiosa columbaria), and of course that's the one he/she found and went to again and again. I was glad to read this is a perennial (it won the 2000 Perennial plant of the year).
It's too early to buy the butterfly weed plant, but am looking.
