Heard and saw my first redwings of the season late this afternoon. The first one I saw was perched at the top of a tall tamarack. I saw six altogether, all perched at the tops of tall trees along the road. Three of them were about half a mile from my house near some wet areas where the brook flows close to the road, and the other three were about a mile up my road at a chain of beaver ponds.
