Yesterday (3/25/06) about 3 PM I saw a monarch on my property near Bergheim. I'm pretty sure it was a female. She was worn and flew 1 to 3 feet off the ground in a somewhat spastic and aimless fashion, touching down frequently. I believe that she was looking for milkweed. She hung around for about 20 minutes.
