Bald Eagle

Date: 03/29/2006

Number: 1

There were two Eagles (male and female) seen using a red-tailed hawks nest. The male appeared to be breaking branches to further build up the nest. The female perched on a nearby branch. The Eagles remained in the spot until 11:30am and then flew off. No recent sightings of the pair as of 3/30/06 9:30 am. A video tape recording their behavior was the hit of the child's classroom. It brought new light to show and tell! The student's are very excited because the sighting is less than 1 mile from their school and approximately 10-12 miles from the Hudson River.
