Late this afternoon I looked out back in time to see a Tiger
Swallowtail and an equally large orange butterfly harassing each
other above a patch of creeping phlox. I grabbed my binoculars and got a good look at a Monarch.
Last year I saw a Monarch here in Cumberland County on April 27, but today seems very early to me. Of course it could have blown in with the weather.
