Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/01/2006

Number: 1

Saw several females flying low. Excellent condition. Observed in late morning flying directly North. I am between Tulsa and Okmulgee. We have NO Monarchs that overwinter here. Milkweed is up, but not long enough to have hatched an egg. But, I was in Ardmore for 30 years, where I learned to track and count Monarchs (University of Kansas project). She could have come from southern Oklahoma. We have hatched them early when we have a mild winter.
