BEAUTIFUL!! My very first live loon!! Swimming on Lake Marburg, next to the boat landing along Smith Station Rd., among a small flock of Canadian Geese. Soon a bass boat came ashore to load up, and the loon swam out to the middle. I live on the hill right across the road from sighting. One week ago, I heard a loon call, early in the morning, shortly after sunrise. This evening, I get a call from my neighbor, saying the loon was down there. I quickly walked down, and with binoculars, saw it! Seeing my first loon was awesome! It's my favorite bird!
