Robin (OTHER Observations)

Date: 04/07/2006

Number: 1

Tap, tap, bang, bang, scratch, scatch...breeding season is beginning from the noises in the living room! A robin launches himself at our bow window repeatedly, trying to hover as he strikes at his reflection slipping down the glass. We had about 2 weeks of this last spring, too! Opening the front door only chases him up into the pear tree. Shaking the broom sends him across the yard. And 5 minutes later - Bang! Bang! Bang! he flutters all hot eyed and feisty in another attack to drive that reflection away! Heather, the cat crouches hopefully as the barking trio of Dalmatians fly around looking for intruders! Time to find black paperand make some hawk silhouettes to save his beak and me from frazzles! Perhaps a recipe for "Roasted Robin" will be needed if Mr. Maghoo miscalculates in the heavy rain! Funny bird - all rumpled, wet and humped up on the porch railing, his fiery eyes blazing!
