Monarch Larva (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/08/2006

Number: 1

We found three monarch larva on some tropical milkweed in our outdoor classroom. We were gone for a few days and when we checked for them today we could only find one. It is about half an inch long and was munching away on some of the blooms. We have other milkweed plants in the main part of our garden that have several eggs on them. This is the earliest we have ever had eggs and larva in our garden.
