All Other Signs of Spring

Date: 04/09/2006

Number: 1

The cold snap of the last few days slowed things down considerably, but the predicted warm up this week should move spring along nicely. The juncos are still here, poor birds, we look forward to them leaving as a positive sign of spring!! The maples are dropping their "berries", privet is totally leafed out, also the honeysuckles, hostas are emerging and astilbes too, columbines and bleeding hearts well leafed out and budding, pulmonaria beginning to bloom.Sparrows nesting, fox sparrow gone, barberry leafed out-glad to read orioles on their way!!
