Ms. Monarch has slowed down on her egg laying again; 12 eggs on Friday, 5 eggs on Saturday and 6 eggs on Sunday.


On Saturday the first caterpillar attached itself to a twig and assumed the "J" position. By Sunday morning we have the first chrysalis of the season. Several of the other 5th instar caterpillars are starting to cast about looking for a place to pupate.

Now the wait begins to see the first butterfly...
