I was thrilled to see a monarch in our yard - and even more thrilled to watch her laying eggs on my milkweed. I am absolutely positive it was a monarch - I have been interested in butterflies for many, many years and have been raising monarchs from egg to adult and releasing them for about the last 10 years. Some years we don't see our first monarch until fall, so a visit this early in the year was really exciting for me.
