Robin (OTHER Observations)

Date: 04/13/2006

Number: 1

The warm temperatures are making it possible to get into my gardens and weed! I may actually get ahead of the weeds! I have a robin who watches to see where I am working. It lands about 8 feet away, ignoring the curious dogs while it scratches like a chicken and listens for worms my turning the soil stirs up. Yesterday, spreading composted rabbit bedding from garbage bags, I disturbed huge fat worms. That poor robin! It must've felt like someone who has eaten too much spagetti. The worms simply went down one after another, without the bird flying away as if to feed young or a mate. It's is probably Maghoo building strength to fight with his reflection!
