arrived at house about 5 pm local -- 20 - 30 Monarch Butterflies feeding on Lilac and Apple blossoms -- then moving into elm trees around yard for the evening -- at least a couple mating pairs observed. Similar number observed at my Mom's house in Langdon, KS (about 25 miles west)

I was surprised to see so many myself! We are in the country (actually a couple miles east & north of PP) with native pasture and former CRP ground on our 40 acres. I've attached a couple shots of our "monarchs" for confirmation.
