Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/13/2006

Number: 1

While outside at break during school, we saw a monarch butterfly. It wasn't very bright, so we think it was one of the ones coming back from Mexico. It didn't look bright like a newly hatched one. After school, one of the Girl Scout troops saw another monarch. Our teacher and three of our students saw one at their homes. They're here!!!
We looked in our gardens to see if any milkweed was up. There is no sign of any milkweed sprouting yet. There are lots of flowers for a hungry monarch, but no milkweed for the babies. Is that a problem?
