A monarch invasion! Most exciting stufffffffffffffff!

A flurry of MONARCHS have been seen in South Jersey, beginning with one on April 2 in the Villas. Since then, 11 were seen in Cape May County, NJ, over the weekend of April 13-16. Two of these Monarchs were intent on laying eggs. In each case they laid on brand new shoots of Swamp Milkweed, between ½ inch and 3 inches tall. One of these egg-laying Monarchs was in my very own garden in Goshen (laid 20+ eggs) and the other was in Dale Watson's garden about five miles away on Cape May Court House-Goshen Road (laid @ 75 eggs).

I never remember this many sightings in the spring. Pretty awesome! And to watch one intently prowl my garden looking for Milkweed & my friend's garden (where it was even more hidden, only 1/2 inch up and hidden by so many other plants).
