When the children arrived at school Monday morning, they were surprised to see the first Red Emperor blooming. Surprised because, on Thursday we went outside to sketch them and we couldn't even see the buds yet. They were still wrapped up in the leaves. We had some rain and warm temperatures over the weekend and "Voila!" flowers!
