Monarch Larva (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/24/2006

Number: 1

My class returned from spring break this morning to find dozens of tiny larvae on our sprouting milkweed plants. We haven't counted them all yet, but all 20 plants have several larvae eating away. They are first and second instars. We are so excited to be able to again witness the miracle of metamorphosis! Ruth Pinson's fourth grade, Armuchee Elementary, Rome, GA
