As of the 24th of April, the Swamp Milkweed (Asclepias incarnata)is evident in a 13-inch diameter circle of approximately 30 sprouting plants...ranging from 1-1/2 inches high to over 4 inches in height. There are several other plants a few feet from the original cluster and some of these are 3 inches tall. When we checked on the 21st of April, no plant starts were visable. Our common milkweed in this Wildlife Garden area situated just outside and in full view from the windows of the Lourdes College Life Lab, has not sprouted. However in the Campus Prairie Garden, sprouts of the common milkweed are up, one was at least 5 inches and a few sprouts were 3 inches tall.
