On 4/22/06, my wife and I noticed a nest in one of our fruit trees. It was a fairly large nest, about 6 or 8" in diameter. There were no eggs in it. On 04/23 we noticed a large blue egg. I suspected it was a robin as I noticed one flying from the tree as I approached the nest. I went on you website and found a picture of the nest and egg and a description of the mating and nesting habits of Robins. I was very excited about this find.
On 4/24 I check the nest in the A.M. but there was still only one egg and no robin to be seen. When I got home from work I noticed the Robin was back on the nest. Later on she left the nest and I noticed a second egg.
I have taken pictures of these events and am very excited to follow the future of this nesting Robin.
