We were out birdwatching with my grandson on a field trip. It was cold so did not take our nets
out of the car when we started a walk around Little Islet Lake.
Mistake. With the sun shining things warmed up fast. The expected
Morning Cloak, Comptons Tortoiseshell, Satyr Comma and Milberts
Trotiseshells and some unidentified Polygonia sp.
were around but then
we spotted two male Celastrina (Azures) flying along the edge of the
dogwood. Guess we actually have spring here.
