A sighting of a faded monarch butterfly yesterday was reported to me this evening from the Chicago suburbs.

This is a reliable report. The person who saw the monarch has raised many of them. She saw it in her own yard, in Westmont, IL, which is a western suburb of Chicago. We are hoping to see some soon at Wolf Road Prairie in Westchester, which is just a little east of Westmont! The milkweed is just starting to emerge.

Weather clear, warm, mid-60's, close to 70 midday here.
