My first Ruby-throated Hummingbird of the year was spotted on April 29th around 4:30 p.m. My first Hummingbird sighting each year usually falls on May 2nd. This is the earliest I have ever seen one. I usually see my first Hummingbird around the same day that I see my first Rose-breasted Grosbeak. This year I saw my first Grosbeak about a week earlier than usual on April 25th. I had a feeling that would mean my first Hummingbird would be early and it was. My first Hummingbird sighting is always my favorite day of the year.
