Monarch Larva (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/06/2006

Number: 1

It was 2:30pm in the afternoon at the Patuxent Wildlife Visitors Center in Laurel, Maryland. We were on the back patio bird observation area and there were several Milkweed plants about 12" tall with lots of leaves. We found one tiny larva and no other eggs on the plants closest to the path.

It was a sunny, warm day -- about 75 degrees, with a nice breeze.
